Good, compact card for those on a budget
1 of 2 found this helpful The GTX 960 is about the most inexpensive card that will unlock "Ultra" graphics on Zwift.
The EVGA GeForce GTX 960 SC Gaming 2GB in particular is a compact card that fits in my ex-business PC that doesn't accept a lot of cards, due to having space constraints. Longer cards would be blocked by the SATA ports on the motherboard, due to the poor Dell design.
You'll want to check out the FPS for your game of choice, but this card is a great value for someone looking for a budget card that supports higher graphics settings. My app of choice is Zwift, and it works with Zwift very well, I run it in Ultra on 1080p. It can dip down to 30fps when there are many bikes on the screen, but generally runs at 60fps.

OK, but caveats
The Ematic ECM4K280 is a good choice at the right price for use with a Macbook Pro, however, there are some problems with it, that you should consider. If using a DisplayPort cable, it is plug and play. But if using an HDMI cable, the mac chooses the wrong color profile. Remember there is a different color profile for a monitor as compared to a TV. Because the wrong profile is chosen, the colors are extremely washed out with no way to fix, except that you hack the system. If you google around, there is a way of placing the mac in safe mode, modifying some system config files and forcing the RGB mode. In this way my color is correct over HDMI today. But the easier solution is to buy a display port cable. Also some monitors handle sound, this one does not give you any volume control on the mac, if you try to play sound, therefore, I haven't even tried to use it for sound in ages, what a pain. However, i got this monitor at a good price, and frankly it is way better than chancing on a used monitor. I use it for scaled retina mode but not 2x. I use it scaled to virual 1440p and it looks fine, plenty spacious. I'll keep it.
