Vinyl, yes. Leather, no.
3 of 3 found this helpful Works well on vinyl in an emergency. Don't use it on leather unless the patch can't be seen. It also doesn't adhere well on leather, it will pull apart. Starts to air dry very quickly so it can't be used on small patches such as cracks or cuts. Can not be lightly sanded to remove the shine. The best description I can use is a cross between rubber cement and the old airplane glue.

It's there when you need it
Sturdy, easy to assemble, lightweight. Everyone needs an extra flat spot to put something while your working. Unfortunately every flat spot I have has something on it. When I need it, it's assembled. When I don't, I fold it up and put it off to the side for the next time.

Older is better
If you don't have to get into a tight space this cutter will do the job. The older Craftsman Mini Cutter (made in USA) had a flat outside edge which came to a point. This version (made in China) has a rounded outside edge.
