A pleasure to play
This is a solid, carefully crafted horn that is a great pleasure to play. I love producing the deep sound of this "conical" shaped bass flugelhorn which does truly turn out to lie between a flugelhorn and a French horn.

A good purchase for space requirements and quality appearance
We replaced our two-seater with this model just to create a wider passage way into the hall. We appreciate the extra inches of clearance.
The only negative is that the under-the-seat sheet music storage is just half the depth or so of the previous piano bench’s under-the-lid storage.
The bench leather is much nicer looking than the vinyl of the other available models. Sometimes one just has to pay more for quality.

Fine flugelhorn mouthpiece
I had a standard (non-HJ) Parduba--which I really liked-- when I ordered this one. I wanted to see what its shallower cup would be like. The results were predictable: a bit brigher than the 5.0, but somewhat easier access to higher notes. But that said, lower tones come out really fluegel-like, mellow, wistful and haunting. Yes, I'm a big Parduba fan; my whole horn seems to vibrate and fill up with sound.
