Dish VIP222K two-room receiver
2 of 2 found this helpful Terrific high-def receiver provides independent Dish channel selection in 2 rooms. If you plug the MT2 OTA receiver into it (very easy to do), you get all local channels (including sub-channels like 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3) off a standard antenna and have NO NEED TO PAY for the Dish local channels pack via satellite. It is also without DVR, so NO NEED TO PAY the DVR charge. If you want to record, just run the 222K signal through a DVD-burner in either of the 2 rooms. Dish is trying to push these out of service to push up their billing, and local installers may say they can't install them. BS. I called Dish corporate, ordered the channel package I wanted, told them they were going to use my receiver, and they had an installer out in 2 days. And - the receiver is mine and not on some kind of lease with return and penalty stuff in the contract. This is the way to go!!

Crazy simple Beluga solar pool heater WORKS
1 of 1 found this helpful We live in Michigan, and my family has long complained about how long it takes for our 17,000 gallon in-ground pool to warm up. I bought this Beluga device, screwed it into one of the returns from the filter to the pool, and hooked up 100 feet of dark hose ($25- at Home Depot) lying on on the pool apron. Your hand can feel the difference in water temp between the pool and what the hose is returning to it! Starting at 70 F, the pool water warmed at 3-degrees per day in sunshine and quickly got to and has stayed in the mid 80s. Very simple and elegantly effective!
