Low price enables pain relief for muscle spasms
2 of 2 found this helpful I have been using TENs for 40 years. So glad they are now available without prescription. This unit would be best used by people with "routine" muscle spasms not by back pain as a result of spinal cord infringement. Since a person would not necessarily know that for months since every reputable spine or neurosurgeon would have a patient go through a series of procedures that could alleviate the pain before ordering an MRI, using a TENs unit such as this could provide pain relief more quickly to allow the person to get on with their life. Problems with this model: 1) too large to fit into a pocket so it would enable mobility while in use (mobility is always better than lying down). 2) has only a 15 minute or less setting, then requires turning off and waiting to reset for more time. That is insufficient. 3) the electrodes (pads) are inferior and do not stick to skin well. 4) on off are dials that can too easily be bumped and the intensity increased immediately with painful result. Good points: has 3 settings of action as well as a large range of intensity AND the price is right.
