Beautiful look & sound
I added this Yamaha Stage Custom Birch Tom 8 x 7 to my current Yamaha Rydeen drum set, 10, 12 & 14 floor tom (20" kick). Yamaha does not offer a 8 inch add-on tom, which is why I went to the Stage Custom line. The 8 inch adds a wonderful melodic component. My existing Rydeen kit is "Hot Red", which wasn't my favorite color to begin with. So now, I wish the red was the same as the beautiful black wood grain of this tom.

Look and sound great
If you are using these on any 6mm cymbal stands, you'll need to wrap some tape around the stem before threading the sleeve onto the stem. They look great and you do not need to employ felts under the cymbal. The material is soft enough.
