Shape Ups for Retail Workers
2 of 2 found this helpful I am a supervisor in a large retail store and I am on my feet walking 8 hours a day. In addition I have heel spurs and my knees sometimes ache if I stand too long. Good footwear is important to me as aching feet makes for a miserable workday. Sketcher brand sneakers are usually my shoe of choice because of their comfort and the lack of pressure on my spur so I decided to give Shape-Ups a try.
I tried on a pair at a retail store and I was hooked. It was like walking on pillows. I was originally concerned about the curve on the bottom of the shoe, thinking I would have to roll when I walk and it would look unsightly but it turns out that area of the sole is soft and compresses when I walk. Climbing ladders was also a concern but I found that was not a problem either for an occasional ladder use. I don't know if I would recommend for heavy ladder use. The only problem I ever had was once when I was coming down from a ladder I missed the bottom step thinking I was already at ground level. When I stepped down I was not able to catch myself because while a regular sneaker would help you catch yourself from rolling back because the heel is solid, the curved heal and soft sole allowed me to roll and fall backwards to the floor. I wasn't hurt because I curved myself and just rolled when I hit the floor, but it did make me be more careful. I have used a ladder dozens of times since with no problem.
I didn't buy for the toning aspect but at my age, 52, shaping-up is surely a plus. I don't exercise enough but now with my "happy feet" I don't mind walking more when I get home.
I have purchased the black leather sneakers for work and the Shape Ups xf-Dash sandals for the summer. I'm so glad they are coming out with other styles because I will definitely be in the market for more.

Greatly Improved Signal in large old house with mesh and plaster walls.
2 of 2 found this helpful My house is very large, 110 years old and the wire mesh and plaster walls always made it difficult to get a strong wireless signal throughout the house. I've invested in one of the best routers but still could net get a strong enough signal in the living room to watch a streaming movie on the TV. I've also tried another brand booster (the same as my router) and it was so complicated to set up and still didn't work well.
Never owned a Netgear product but took a chance based on other reviews. The set up was soooo easy. Plug in near your wireless router, wait a couple minutes until the lights turn green, push one button on the Netgear and one on your router, wait another minute until lights turn green, and you are DONE. Unplug, move it to another location, plug in and you are set. Just sign into the new network (same security password). I might add I am an older user, so the ease of set-up was huge for me.
Pros:
Easy set up
Easy to log onto network
Works
Cons:
The color- WHITE. All my walls are dark and really stands out especially with the antennas.
