Messing with a good thing
1 of 3 found this helpful MXL got it right the first time when making the original V67. Unfortunately, like everything, they had to mess with it - replacing the simple FET circuit with a micro-circuit including some kind of built-in limiter - think cassette decks and CAMcorders - degrading the signal and taking the limiting options away from users. This might be good for the novice or person who doesn't want to bother with limiting their own signal, but since the range of options on limiting is nonexistent - always in circuit - I'm crying foul.

Good but fragile
This item works - the main thing - but is VERY fragile and its connector is only attached by solder joints. This means if you don’t use EXTREME CAUTION in unplugging the cable - prying gently from each end with a micro-screwdriver to undo it, the solder joints will break and stop the item from working. Connectors should be anchored to the board separately.

Surprisingly good lens at bargain price
Light weight, zoom lens - wide to portrait - more than adequate for making full-frame video on the Sony A7 series. Auto everything - particularly focus and tracking, Basic function appears smooth and able with focus set on “wide” and “2 seconds”. Exhaustive options for face recognition, etc., untested.
