Great idea, terrible setup
0 of 1 found this helpful In concept, the wemo smart plugs are a great idea. Plug them in, attach them to your network, and you can control the devices from anywhere. In practice though it's not that easy. The initial setup is straightforward enough, it's when things go wrong that the plugs can become your worst nightmare. Shortly after installing my first plug, I needed to reboot my modem and router. That led to 57 different attempts to reconnect my plug to the wifi. So when I installed my second plug I thought 'OK, now at least I know how to do this'. Then there was a power outage. Somehow the first plug managed to reconnect with no issues, but now I am on the 10th retry of resetting the second plug. I'll let you know if I ever get it reconnected, though I wouldn't expect to hear from me for awhile.
