Great starter camera and one of the few with a good super macro mode
Great basic camera with a super macro mode. That is actually what Olympus calls it and it is only available on certain models of their cameras--most of them are discontinued as this one. Several newer models have the feature also, but with a much longer focal distance so rather than getting a minimum focal distance of 0.8 inches it is more like 2 inches. This is an easy to use camera that uses 2 economical AA batteries or rechargeable ones if you prefer. There is a separate on/off switch so the camera can be left in its last operating mode ready to go on the next power-up. The controls lay-out is very handy compared to some of the newer cameras and the menu is easily understood. The reasons I bought one of these is because of the super macro mode that more closely resembles that which one gets from a real 35mm (or digital) SLR camera and bellows. Both of which are more expensive that this camera. The other is it uses AA batteries so no need to worry about replacing an expensive custom rechargeable battery when it dies. The major disadvantage to this camera and many more like it from Olympus and every manufacturer is the lack of a real TTL view finder or even a rangefinder for using the camera outdoors. Sunlight washes out the display. Not so major of a disadvantage is the xD cards are becoming harder to find at good prices. I gave it 4 out of 5 since that is the highest rating I'll give any consumer kind of digital camera. If I had never been an avid or pro photographer I'd probably have given this camera a 5 even if it is only a 3.2 Mp camera. For 90% of what someone shoots this is a nice camera.

Vintage Remington 5 Portable Typewriter Ribbon on Twin Metal Spools (New Stock)
    Jul 30, 2018
Fit and work just like the original.
This is a great quality ribbon on the real metal spools that fit the Remington Model 5 Deluxe just like the originals because they are a perfect match for the originals. The ribbons are very long lasting due to being inked a bit heavier than the cheap ribbons. Many sellers claim their ribbons match the Remington 5; beware the real ones that fit only come on metal spools and they must have the tiny tabs on the bottom to fit the ribbon drive hubs.

Great informative book for any microphone user
Excellently written book which should be read and its principles applied by any one doing the FOH mix whether for a band, the High School play, church, or any other PA or professional audio work. (or audio recording work) The author is perhaps best know by those in the broadcast or recording circles as the fellow who used to drive nails with an EV 664 (or was it the 665?) and the 635 as well as his excellent technical skills when he worked for Electro-Voice. The book is not brand specific nor is it obsolete when using todays microphones. All the principles still apply. Microphone design and application and specifications are all presented with just enough technical information to keep things interesting without loosing the reader on tons of engineering information, math or other theoretical materials. This book and the one by John Eargle will provide any audio enthusiast, student of audio engineering or an engineer with plenty of information in order to choose and use the best microphone for any specific application. Hands-on use of microphones and sound equipment is still a requirement, but the books will get you off to a good start on proper microphones and their applications.
