An Outstanding CPU
3 of 3 found this helpful Purchased this for a new build on a Z390 board. Originally aimed for the i7-9700k, but price and time constraints made the 9600k a better buy, and I must say I am extremely satisfied. Six physical cores, even without hyperthreading, can handle basically anything I can throw at it. With XMP settings on in BIOS, it overclocks to 5.0 GHz without breaking a sweat with an H115i. Even under heavy load while playing games, rarely gets above 60⁰C. An exceptional piece of hardware, and paying $220 for it was just about the bargain of the century for a college student working a summer job.
