Lovable movie, family friendly
0 of 1 found this helpful I have two daughters who love animals, dogs especially. This movie is about two young kids living in an awful foster home. They have a dog for whom they care unbeknownst to their foster parents. As they try to hide the dog, they end up caring for more dogs in an abandoned hotel. That's when the fun begins.
This is a cute, family-oriented movie, save one teen kissing scene. But even that is not too bad. The children actors do a good job, while the adults are a bit over-the-top, but entertaining, nonetheless.
The story is meant to teach kids that teamwork works, and that they need to try their best in every situation because good things can still happen, even when everything seems like they're "going to the dogs."

inexpensive protection for your glass
i am very surprised at the quality of these filters given the low price. i expected cheap, thin, and brittle glass. what i got was well-made, solid, and quality optics. i have not taken these out onto water or into the mountains yet, but the indoor and around the neighborhood shooting i've done so far has resulted in good shots.
i have read lately that a UV filter is unnecessary with digital cameras because the "film", the sensor, is not susceptible to the effects of the UV rays like old-school film was. even if that is true, which i do not have the education to refute, having an extra layer of relatively cheap glass protecting your expensive glass is just a good idea.
The threads on the filter as well as the heft of the metal frame give me confidence that these filters will last as long as my lenses. well, maybe, as long as i don't hit something...

Very good camera, but some weaknesses...
3 of 3 found this helpful the pictures are very good quality. the features are more than i can use. the zoom, which is the main reason i bought this particular camera, is just awesome. the large lens helps get more light to the CCD, so you don't always need a flash indoors, the other major reason i got this one.
now the bad part. i find this camera takes a long time to focus when in max zoom. it eaven goes in and out of focus mid-range and seems to have a hard time "making up its mind." i have missed a few shots because of this indecision in the auto focus. but, once the auto focus is locked, the shutter delay is near 0.1 seconds, or so.
overall, i would recommend this camera to anyone who wanted a point-and-shoot that can take great pictures indoors without a flash, and of course, that 15x zoom...
