Reliable enterprise drive
8 of 9 found this helpful This is an enterprise-grade drive, so it's reliable, reasonably fast, and has a good warranty. It's also power-hungry, runs a little warm, and can be loud, but that's to be expected. I have nearly 20 of these drives and have only ever had one die on me. They can also run up to 5 C hotter than the WD Red drives at idle, and more than that under heavy load. They are also noticeably louder than the WD Red drives. I don't have a decibel reading or anything, but it might get annoying if you have these drives a few feet from your desk, but then again these are designed for servers. They are more expensive than other 3 TB drives, but if you're someone who needs durable drives you'll appreciate their reliability and extra warranty.
