Excellent story, very private individual and an impressive man. Definitely made his mark.
Excellent story if you're into automobile execs from the turn of the previous century (Henry Ford, Walter Chrysler, Billy Durant, etc.). This guy knew his stuff and was way ahead of his time. His methods are still used today and he is largely responsible for GM being one of the biggest companies on Earth way back when. It's a shame they had to accept a bail out several years ago, because Alfred P. Sloan Jr. would have been ashamed to see what's happened to GM since his passing.
