Antenna in question and still to soon to tell.
10 of 13 found this helpful It is immediately apparent between radios the received and transmit audio quality is very good.
Which is very encouraging as an indicator of the build quality of the handheld transceiver itself.
These transceivers absolutely definitely require another higher quality and performance antenna.
The supplied antenna is far to rigid with insufficient flexibility rather poorly loaded and very short.
This will place unnecessary strain on the case antenna connector when there is a lot of activity.
The supplied antenna is poorly designed, failing to perform well, limiting the range of coverage.
These transceivers really need a much longer and better loaded resonant antenna. Variations
with lengths of 50cm - 75cm - 100cm are required and would improve the range of coverage.
I have not had sufficient time yet to check the receiver sensitivity of these radios themselves.
The poor quality performance of the supplied antenna being the first most obvious observation.
There are some good Chinese manufacturers of a spiral spring type rubberised helical antenna.
It should be very easy for them to retool for a handheld radio 50cm BNC 27mhz CB antenna.
Otherwise a resonant flexible fiberglass antenna in 50 - 75 - 100 - 125cm variations is needed.
There is no power adapter supplied with the radio it only comes with a car lighter power cable.
I have ordered a suitable standard plug 14volt power adapter to charge the batteries properly.
With the supplied antenna you have a few hundred meters in open line of sight on 1 watt power.
That is a fading signal around 350 meters on 4 watts power in built up residential housing areas.
