No Blues with This Velvet
This is a unique (as in one-of-a-kind) fuzz that sounds great right out of the box (don't need to goose it with an OD or distortion pedal to open it up). It is much more versatile than any of the many other fuzzes I own (but each of which I love for its own characteristics) in terms of the range of sounds it can produce. Brian Wampler has a dedicated video on YouTube for this pedal which I recommend you watch, as does Pro Guitar Shop. They can go more into the specifics as well as giving you actual sound bites.
If you only want to have one fuzz, or are starting out and on a budget, this is the fuzz to get.

Lo-Gain No Pain
1 of 1 found this helpful Prymaxe offers a nice bundle of this pedal + power supply and two patch cables.
The lo-gain version of the PlexiTone offers a nice distinct Marshall tone that stacks nicely with various MXR overdrives to produce a wonderful warm screaming sustain.
I bought the lo-gain version because the youtube vids of the regular version simply had too much gain, though at lower gain setting the same unmistakable Marshall crunch was there.
This lo-gain version pairs up perfectly with the new Catalinbread Formula No. 55 set on the hot tubes setting (red light) and various MXR overdrives when running two amps at the same time (as I usually do).
The lo-gain also cleans up nicely at lower guitar volumes. It's a welcome addition to my bevy of amp-like overdrive pedals.

Want great head? Get it here!
0 of 1 found this helpful This little jewel of an amp head is perfect for home (living room, bedroom, any room) practice and playing. It's small but weighty and solidly built. Some nice features include:
1) STEREO headphone output
2) 8 Ohm/16 Ohm compatibility
3) You can run it through ANY size cab (even a 4 x 12) (as long as the impedance matches), directly into a recording device, a PA, whatever.
4) PORTABLE because of small size and basically its universal output (see point 3).
5) replacement tubes are easy to find and affordable
6) capable of VOX clean chime and jangle as well as AC-30 style clipping and roar.
The only down side is they seem to be relatively rare and therefore pretty hard to find.
