Canon EF 100 f2.0 USM/ L Series In Disguise
7 of 7 found this helpful When I first bought this lense I was amazed. Super fast, silent focus and great contrast and very sharp.
The focal length is just the right one for portraits with 35mm cameras. It eliminates the distortion of the 85mm and doesn't compress the image too much like a 135mm lense does. It's optics hold up very well with the Canon close up filters. They work together like they're designed for each other.
I've had mine for over 15 years and it's not given me one bit of trouble. With a little care these lenses wear very well. Mine still looks like it did the day I took it out of the box.
If you're wondering which prime to get first this is one I would recommend after the 50mm f1.4 USM.
For those quiet places that need the stealth approach this is one lense that should be in your lense arsenal.

For my Panasonic Lumix LX100II or M2.
I purchased this as it seemed a good price and was meant to work with my Lumix cameras. As a bonus I read it should work with my Olympus E500 and E510 as well.
My test shots show a nice even coverage and excellent color balance with the Lumix LX100M2. I like that it's compact and has enough output to do some group shot photos. It takes 2 AAs and fits easily in a coat pocket. It's not the fastest recycling but makes the process easier as it automatically zooms with the zoom in my Lumix and I dont have to worry about vignetting.
I'll probably upgrade some day but this should work fine for me as I do not do too much indoor flash photography.
