order said shipping was free, but USPS requested I pay $8.50 to receive the item

My order said that shipping was free, but the USPS delivery lady requested that I pay $8.50 to receive the item, if not I could not receive the delivery. I had to pay because I needed the item. I don't know why i was forced to pay an additional $8.50 for the shipping of this item. I won't buy from your store again and I will tell everyone I know on all of my social media to not purchase from you again, this is not good.
