Keeping Butter Neat Is Difficult!
Having had a regular glass tray with lid, which gets pretty messy, I was eager to finally try this style of keeper. It’s a little weird when you think about it, filling the bottom cup 1/3 full of water.
I found it not to be the complete panacea to a messy butter dish that I had hoped for.
Of course, you have to load it with butter, so the butter needs to be somewhat softened for that. And smoothly finishing off the top with a knife takes some practice. I think I remember a rounded wooden cylinder “presser,” Perhaps even with an initial in it, as for an hotel dining room festive presentation.
Second, I suggest leaving the butter keeper in the fridge, and only taking it out to soften when beginning to make the meal. I found little ‘floes’ of butter separated from the keeper and floated in the water—I think it was worse when I kept the butter at room temperature all the time.
Let’s face it, butter is delicious, but messy! Corralling butter neatly will remain a science and an art!

I Ran Out of Tomr’s & Used SodaStream...!
1 of 1 found this helpful I added some SodaStream DIET Tonic Syrup, about half a SodaStream capful, to my drink, which already had the last dregs from my bottle of Tomr’s deglazed with my gin.
The difference was immediately noticeable: The commercial syrup, diet or no, was WAY too sweet, and not nearly as deep, bitter, & balanced as Tomr’s.
I recommend the latter 100% !

Tool Is Excellent, Price Is Excellent
I’m aware of fine tools, such as those made by Bridge City Tool Works.
This tool is not of that quality, but it IS destined to be my go-to, everyday, enjoyable, fine, angle bevel!
The finish is plain but nice, the stainless blade is thick & well etched in inches, and on the other side, centimeters.
I might break (chamfer, probably [spelling corrected] by light sanding) the edges of the wood handle, because they are a little sharp in the hand.
A Bridge City Angle Bevel would have thicker brass plate to protect the end and clamping area, but the brass thumb wheel on this tool is robust and satisfying.
A good heft in the hand, worlds away from any black-plastic-bodied bevel you had in the past.
From a pretty knowledgeable woodworker to other woodworking brethren out here, this is a great tool, and an EXCELLENT tool for the price.
