You Again : Last Poems And Tributes, Paperback by Smith, Ken, Like New Used, ...
Apr 01, 2020
A manual for writing poetry from one of the great British poets.
Ken Smith was one of my writing professors at Slippery Rock. I feel very fortunate to have crossed paths with him. A "must read" for any would-be poet or serious reader of poetry. This is not just a collection of poems. Ken Smith explains his writing process: what he writes about, how he writes, etc. In short, this is a manual, an insightful teaching manual, a tool.
Check Six: A Fighter Pilot Looks Back
Apr 19, 2018
MajorGeneral "Boots" Blesse's biography
A must-read for anyone interested in military history and fighter pilot tactics. Blesse literally wrote the book. [See also Blesse's other book, "No Guts, No Glory."] When MajorGeneral "Boots" Blesse passed away, he was the last living double-ace from the jet era. Blesse graduated from West Point in 1945, the class that was rushed through in three years in order to get them to combat in WW II. He arrived "in theater" for WW II, but just missed the chance to fly combat missions. He more than made up for that in Korea (P-51 and F-86 tours) and Vietnam (flying the F-4 Phantom). See also "Tempered Steel," the biography of Colonel James H. Kasler: 3-war vet, jet ace, the only 3-time recipient of the Air Force Cross, and a POW in Vietnam for more than 6-1/2 years. Blesse and Kasler served together as gunnery instructors at Nellis Air Force Base after Korea. Charles L. Byler, co-author of Tempered Steel. [see my eBay ads].
Thirty Seconds over Tokyo by Ted W. Lawson Hardcover 1943

collector's item: 1943 printing of 30 Seconds over Tokyo
This book is exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the US Postal Service destroyed it in shipment. Fortunately, the seller fully refunded my purchase price.
