Maverick ET-73 Remote Smoker Thermometer

Close, but no cigar.

I have other Maverick remotes, love 'em. Sadly they operate on a different frequency than this unit and were not compatialbe. I got a new to me smoker and bought this unit so I would end up with 3 recivers to I could have 'em around the house. Since this one would not "play" with the others I returned it. Return process went quickly and easily. Great Vendor!

Be ready to spend a WHILE making it fit.

I'm guessing it would be tough to strip out the screws, given how hard the metal that "slides" into the sight groove is. That said, it took me a couple of hours with a sharpening stone to shape it so it would "slide" into the sight groove. Eventually I got it narrow enough that I could use my sight pusher to shove it in place. I'm glad I've got one, cuz I'd STILL be holding onto that little piece of metal with my finger tips and be grinding away on the oil stone. If you don't have the patience to do fine work on small pieces of hard metal I suggest you buy a different product. Also, the included red dot mounting screws are very short for a FastFire 3, and the thread pitch is different than the screws included with the FF3. I hope the blue loctite holds!

Works perfectly, looks nice.

Seller was VERY helpful on the phone. Lock arrived on time, in good shape. My only complaint is the part that is screwed into the safe, and holds the keypad is PLASTIC, and not very stout. Keypad reprograming instructions were not easy to correctly follow. Lucky for me U Tube is my friend.
