Monogram 1:24 scale '56 Chevy kit
Monogram 1:24 scale '56 Chevy.much better than the AMT brand. Less teeny tiny parts and more logical tire placement. This was fun to build. The instructions were easy to follow and the parts fit well. Reminded me of building these in the 1960s! The 1:24 scale is so much better than 1:25 in my opinion.

Great, it did cost me $125 to have my car mechanic to install, I just didn't feel that I could do it and I am glad that I did not. It is more involved than the product lets on, or maybe it is just that I am not that willing to take off the inside trim and would rather have someone else do it that would not break any of the pieces. Once installed, it works great. The mechanic decided to get one for his car!

1955 Chevy 1/25 scale model.
I got this remembering how much joy that I got building model cars in the late 60s and early 70s. I was between 9 and 14 and but this model was very substandard compared to what I was used to. The parts were too tiny in many cases, the parts did not fit well and I guess there is a big difference between 1/25 and 1/24 scale. The doors did not open nor the trunk. I still have a couple of the cars from my youth and they are so much better than this thing. I am not sure how a kid would build this now...it would make them use their device more rather than building something that is nearly impossible to do well. Very sad and disappointed. I will have to just remember how nice the models were a long time ago.
