Organization is the key
While my buddies are looking for the right socket, I just grab my MTS socket organizer.
With it's magnetic base it stays securely attached to any metal surface in almost any position.
With optional colors available, I'm always sure if I have the metrics or S.A.E. sockets.
Matter of fact, 12 point and 6 point sockets are color organized too.
If you can catch the MTS organizers on sale, makes it an even better deal than the already low price.
I've organized my sockets lots of different ways, but the MTS organizers seem to be my "go to" set.
