Works great.
Needed a new connector for my iPod and the replacement ribbon cable worked great. My iPod was up and running as soon as I replaced the ribbon cable.

Bought $5 ONN Earphones that sound better.
For around $5 for Samsung earphones I thought this was going to be a good deal. I have used Samsung branded earphones before and they sounded pretty good. But once these came in the mail and I plugged them in, I immediately noticed that the right ear bud was significantly louder than the left ear bud. When having both buds in your ears the only way to tell that the left bud is working is by taking out the right bud. Turning up the sound won't remedy the problem either, the right just gets louder while the left stays quiet. The only thing that surprised me is that the volume controls and pause/play button actually worked. Would not recommend these earphones. I would say you get what you're paying for, but I bought $5 at Walmart to replace these ones that sound better.

What I wanted with one problem.
3 of 3 found this helpful Was looking for a media player for my music and for me the 5th Gen iPod Classic was a great match for me. Synced my music from iTunes to the iPod and it worked great. One problem I had is for a lot of songs there were high pitched scratch sounds littered throughout a lot of my songs. I tried downloading the song again to see if the file was at fault but it didn't fix it. The only way I was able to get around this problem is by installing Rock box and the high pitched scratching noises disappeared. Also thought the hard drive was faulty but after replacing it with a SD card adapter it still gave off those sounds.
