OLAPLEX on RELAXED & HENNAED HAIR
4 of 4 found this helpful I tried Olaplex after watching & reading several reviews on You Tube. One had been of the product being used on relaxed hair. I've been experiencing breakage due to heat damage; too high a setting on my flat iron, a new one, too. So I decided to give it a try. Ordered a "sample" amount & used it after I rinsed the relaxer from my new growth. Steps #1 & #2, before I applied the neutralizing shampoo. I left #2 in for 45 minutes with my hair covered with a plastic shower cap then applied the neutralizing shampoo on top of that. Deep conditioned hair after. Noticed less breakage. A few days later I HAD to color those roots. I use henna & have been for about 2 yrs. now. After I rinsed the henna out after several hours, I applied #3 Olaplex & left it in for 1hour. Then I applied castor oil on top of that & left it in another hour. Rinsed out with a co-wash. Two days later I shampooed with a sulfate free shampoo, per instructions of the henna brand I use. A short DC after & WOW! I'm just WOW!!! My hair is soft, bouncy & NO breakage! I even blowed dried my hair on the COOL setting after some air drying & flat ironed it. I LOOOVE how my hair feels & looks. I will be using Olaplex regularly, expensive but WORTH it.
