    works great !!
When I finally got directv hooked up in my bedroom, it took my only HDMI input on my older flat screen tv. So I had no where to plug in my dvd player, which was using the HDMI input. My dvd player didn't have component connections but the tv did. I had never heard of the HDfury 2 until I started researching how to convert a HDMI output to a component input. Radio Shack does make one for $40 which doesn't require a power supply. I bought one and it did work but it downgraded the 1080i output into something less, I don't know exactly what. Then I found one of these on ebay for $75 incl postage. I thought it was a little bit steep, but I got it and it does an excellent job, the sharpness and color were identical to that of the dvd playing through the HDMI connection. If you are a perfectionist then this is what you are looking for. Also, in my case it gets its power supply through the HDMI connection. Some dvd players don't output the correct power and you would need an optional power supply. So my conclusion is I think it works great and it saves me from buying a new tv for now.
