Manufacturing fault caused failure to work
The ratings I have given this are based on the condition in which I received it with the manufacturing fault described below. If it had been received without the fault then I would have given it a good recommended rating.
When received, the unit would only work from an external power supply. It was left on charge for best part of a day but still would not work on just the internal batteries which were definitely inserted the correct way round in the removable holder & the holder inserted correctly into the torch body. After a lot of investigation, I found that the spring loaded contact in the removable end cap was not making electrical contact with the end cap so was not completing the circuit needed to charge the batteries or to operate the light. I removed the assembly that holds the spring contact onto the end cap & found that the circuit needed to be completed by the base of the spring making good electrical contact with the end cap. The end cap was finished in a black non conductive treatment which had not been removed where the spring sits on it. Hence the failure to make good contact. Once I scraped away the black finish from where the spring sits, everything then worked fine. The torch specification says 4.7v maximum input but the supplied in car charger outputs 12v which may damage the unit whereas the USB charger cable will only deliver 5v max which should be OK

Good product but not for someone who has poor manual dexterity
I am disabled insofar as I am paralysed down my entire right side, including my right hand and arm. In consequence it proved impossible for me to remove the bottom cover to insert the battery and also the top unit due to them being too stiff for me to rotate. Having got my wife to do the required actions, the shaver worked well.
