Opteron Piledrivers deliver solid performance
These processors are solid. Though they are a few years old now, they work well in a home lab, especially with all of the current issues with Intel's cpu issues. I snagged a pair for my home lab VM server, and they bumped my system up a bit and got me 32 cores total to virtualize with. I haven't pushed them too hard yet, but they appear to run a little cooler/more efficiently than the 6276 Bulldozer cpu I was using previously.
