Clara and Mr. Tiffany: A great read.
Susan Vreeland has written other books about artists which were really good reading and having been in the Stained Glass business for over 30 years, I really couldn't resist Clara & Mr. Tiffany.
Her story clearly depicted just enough early 1900's aura to transport you back there. Her description of L.C. Tiffany was all that I had ever heard about him. an artist and not a business man for sure.
The girls in the lamp studio were not treated equally and had to do most of the work on some of the larger commissions without recognition and equal salary. Clara definitely kept it all together for him. In my minds eye, I could "see" the projects clearly and couldn't wait to turn the page for another look.
Clara was a dedicated worker and brave, as women of those times had to be.
Clara and Mr. Tiffany: A great read.
