Allows my GPS to sit low on the dashboard
I wanted my GPS to sit as low as possible on my dashboard so it would not block my vision. With the original Garmin mount, it would be higher. With this mount I gained about an inch of viewing from the top of the GPS. In that position the GPS does not block my view at all, as at my viewing angle it stays at the same height as the car hood.
It has other possible positions, it could even go lower than the dashboard, which would be preferable. But in my case in particular, I don't have a lot of room below the dashboard line, so this solution worked just fine for me.
The suction cup is sticky, so it holds very well even on smooth surfaces. I had to clean the surface with rubbing alcohol first, as it had some chemical residue from the last cleaning that didn't allow the mount stick. Once cleaned, it stuck just fine.
BTW, I got it in two days on Saturday, instead of Tuesday. That was good :)
