Retro-Bit Official USB Controller 6-Button for Sega Genesis Mini PC/Mac Black
    Oct 05, 2020
The Six-Button Mini-Genesis Controller takes it to the Next Level!!!!
The 3-button controllers that came with the Sega Genesis Mini are just as good as the original. However, the 6-button controller feels more intuitive & natural, especially since I've become accustomed to the controllers that came with the original Xbox and the Xbox 360. Other than that concession, I'm enjoying "stepping back in time" to the 16-bit era.
Griots: A Sword and Soul Anthology

African characters & themes in a Sword & Sorcery setting--A Great Combination!!!!
I don't care if you call it "Sword & Sorcery" or Sword & Soul." This is great stuff with visions of Africa as the setting and milieu that features African characters, tribes, lore, and traditions front and center. It proves that Afrocentric fantasy is every bit as valid as Eurocentric fantasy, and it's long overdue. I admit that I came into "Sword & Soul" via the first two books of the "Imaro" series by its progenitor, author Charles S. Saunders. It's fitting that the last tale in the book is an all-new Imaro tale written by the aforementioned Mr. Saunders. As an anthology, I enjoyed them all the tales presented therein. Even if "The Belly Of The Crocodile" had me scratching my head as to its narrative, I chalked it up as an allegorical first-person narrative. These aren't Conan and Tarzan clones in blackface, but viable heroes and people in their own right. I look forward to adding more of these stories to my collection and I hold these up as artistic as well as literary inspirations. I highly recommend this book.
Who's Who Omnibus Volume 1 New DC Comics HC Hardcover Sealed Batman Superman
    Jun 07, 2021
    I Love It!!!!
This is what I've been waiting on for so many years. It took a few decades, but DC finally got it together and made a "Who's Who" omnibus. As much as I dig my Official handbook Of The Marvel Universe (and I've bought some of the originals, Essentials, and both Omnibuses), this is the omnibus I've really been waiting for. I put this above any other marvel or DC encyclopedias out there & am not ashamed to say so. From a design standpoint, it's superior to the Marvel OHOTMU books & visually, each character has more background visuals going on. While the OHOTMU omnibuses go more in-depth with character details and stats, the "Who's Who" is prettier to look at and is more compelling. It doesn't matter that DCs' subsequent rebooting over the decades since has rendered much of this material and many of these characters "moot", the pre & post-Crisis eras are my favorite era of DC comics--and I speak as someone who's always tilted more heavily towards Marvel. I even love the entries on the more obscure characters & those I never knew existed. This isn't a "DC versus Marvel" debate because I also have the OHOTMU omnibuses in my collection--it's just that my enthusiasm for "Who's Who" stems from the fact that DC had never reprinted this series until recently & many of the entries are new to me, having missed most of them back when they were first published. I'm much more familiar with Marvels' OHOTMU because of Marvel having reprinted them over the years in Essentials TPBs and full-color omnibuses, but there's no contempt. I'm glad to live in a world where both exist & are within easy reach on my bookshelves.
