For Spielberg fans only
Awesome film. With it's flaws, it's still all-around engaging and beautiful. Blu-ray comes very close to the theatrical experience.

WWII coming-of-age masterpiece
1 of 1 found this helpful The technical merits of this transfer are sub-par, but the fact that it's the only digital transfer available makes it well worth the purchase. Engaging and exciting must see coming-of-age family drama filled with well-developed characters and great performances, especially by the adorable lead Sebastian. Beautifully photographed. Have the honor of knowing one of the film's assistant directors. No English subtitles, but closed-captioned. Rated PG-13 for thematic elements including an intense sequence of war violence, sexual content and some strong language.

Some of the best television you’ll ever see.
Box came damaged but easily replaceable. Some paint came off the 2nd disc due to my fingers. There is a main menu with only a “Play Movie” option. No English subtitles or scene selection. Good image and sound for a DVD-R disc. It’s part of the Warner Archive Collection so don’t expect anything technically fancy.
Absolutely stunning and must-see true story about Steven Stayner (Luke Edwards - “Little Big League”) who was stolen from his parents and manipulated by a disturbed madman (Arliss Howard - “Moneyball”) for seven years. A realistic look at the dire effects of child abuse and the fallout from Steven’s family, friends and teenage life after the escape, as he struggles for a return to normalcy. Wonderful performances from a memorable cast that includes John Ashton, Cindy Pickett, Corin Nemec, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Ray Walston, Stephen Dorff, Amy O’Neill, Gregg Henry, Barry Corbin, Beth Grant, Raymond Cruz and Bryan Cranston.
