a great lab book for a student; no longer produced
This is a smaller version (100 pages instead of 150) of the "Research laboratory notebook" by ASM / Macademix. The "Research laboratory notebook" is once of the best on the market, had a great value/price when it was produced. The only complain is it would be better have a slightly larger cell size.
These days sometimes you can still snatch one really cheap: unused copies which end up in used books stores.

a classic peristaltic pump for protein chromatography purication
This is a classic laboratory peristaltic pump for protein chromatography purification. It was around for more than 30 years and remains virtually unchanged since it was introduced in 1980s by Pharmacia (which has passed through LKB, Amersham and GE Healthcare to now Cytiva). It gives a flow speed up to about 8 ml/min (tyically you would need 0.5-5 ml/min). If you don't want to give the 33 Franklins for the new one at Cytiva, the used working ones of around $100-200 are a way to go when they are available. :) It's also cheaper to buy the peristaltic tubing (medical grade) from other suppliers rather than from Cytiva: usually it would be 3mmx5mm tubing: soft silicone (e.g. from Kamoer) or much more durable, gas-impermeable (but non-transparent) PharMed-BPT.

good value for the price, ok for many purposes but can be smeared by water
These enable printing of decent quality text/pictures for in-home use but the printed text/pictures are easily smeared by water. So it's ok for many in-home purposes but a poor choice for some others when possible contact with water is a concern (e.g. labels for shipping).
