Great resolution and installability
I bought the AUTODIM ONSTAR COMPASS TEMP REAR VIEW MIRROR WITH BACKUP CAMERA DISPLAY for my wife's Equinox and paired this backup camera with it. It's a little more expensive that what you can find with other backup cameras, but I feel it is worth it. It's very nicely made and the separate cables allows you to fish it through spaces more easily. It has great resolution and the backup grid is very helpful.
Installation note: If you are installing in an 06 Equinox that already has On-Star and the compass/temperature, this is a nice addition. To connect the camera, find the light green wire in the bundle on the drivers side door sill and connect the red wire from the camera, to it. There are actually 2, so I don't know if I lucked out or if it doesn't matter. The one I connect to worked, so I left well enough alone. The black wire goes to ground and that's it.

Just what the wife needed!
1 of 1 found this helpful The item works as advertised and is a nice addition to our Equinox. It is a little pricey, which it why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5, but it is an OEM replacement, so you need expect to pay more.
My wife wanted a new radio with the backup screen capability, but after using that setup myself, thought it best to find a replacement mirror with the built-in screen so she doesn't need to take her eyes off the mirror while backing up. It works fantastic. I paired it with the NEW Brandmotion 9002-7601 Universal Dual Mount Automotive Backup Camera Kit that the vendor recommended, and glad I did. Very nice resolution on both.
Note about the installation: If you don't already have rear camera capability built in to the wiring harness in your vehicle, you will need to install 2 wires with pins in the OEM connector. This came with the mirror. It's not hard, but study the words and pictures closely to avoid inserting them into the wrong connector pin locations and that the wires are inserted right side up. A very thin flat-bladed tool comes in handy to fully push the connector all the way in.
