Short Life but Needed
2 of 2 found this helpful Having purchased an R850 Hotspot, these batteries are essential to its operation. The average life expectancy of the batteries is about 3 months based on my personal experience. Therefore I highly recommend that one purchase several of these batteries and have them available to replace. You know the battery is reaching the end of its life when it starts to bulge at the middle and it stays hot. When the back of the hotspot pops off, it is time to change the battery. Be sure to use the original Franklin charger to recharge the batteries since other chargers may have a higher charge rate that will shorten the battery life.

OK for now. Time will tell.
Unit appears to be able to do the job replacing another tankless unit installed 7 years ago. It will take time to determine if it is a good value and of good quality. The lifetime guarantee is attractive but not sure if it will actually be honored when the time comes to replace or repair it. But the price point was certainly attractive for the size of the unit.
