Did not really meet expectation
2 of 2 found this helpful I believe Faber Castell holds a strong reputation when it comes to the art world and I am a big fan of the 9000 series graphite pencils or Mars Lumograph. I wasnt really sure about these pencils whenI bought them. I do alot of graphite portrait work and for me I just did like the lay down of the graphite pencil I found them to be somewhat rough or grainy. I prefer the 9000 because I get a smooth finish with blending and with these pencils it wasnt smooth. I found ity was more of a rough blotty finish. I would use them again but I think they could be more suited for techinical drawing where the finish is not as important. I wouldnt not buy these pencils again for that reason but I would still recomment them.

Beautiful pencils
They pencils lay down smooth like a dream with the right paper. They are buttery smooth cannot be compared to polychromos they are two completely different brands.
I read many disappointing reviews on these pencils on what I can only assume as amateur artists. These pencils are underrated they are vibrant and opaque in colour.
I bought the 18 pencil set to test them out and now I am hunting for the the 120 set. They are coming up more expensive for a big set than the luminance. However, in my opinion they are worth every penny.
