good for the price

Its pretty good and solid for its price. It has a few fundamental flaws from my view, but for the price they are minimal and fixing things is fun. 1. the cross hair wont dim enough for low light airsoft use and can give away your position fairly well given the forward facing angle of the source and its minimum brightness. Ill open it up and add a very small resistor to fix that. 2. The optics are not zero parallax by any stretch of the imagination, this was almost got it thrown in the trash. BUT inserting about 4mm of plexiglass in the optical path moves the object plane enough to make it VERY parallax free (tested at 20m with a laser sight co-witness and no observable shift to an unaided eye). THis may have just been my unit. The insert was about 4mm by 6 x 8mm inserted right over the source and epoxied down. The mass of the insert is so low Im not concerned about it coming loose with proper epoxy practices. 3. the battery has a short'ish life

Amature machinist: cuts steel just fine.

Ive used it on alloy steel for about 1.5 hrs now at an appropriate spindle speed and feed rate it is holding up just fine.
