Panasonic FZ50 Zoom-in-one
0 of 1 found this helpful Like: Clear, stable images, manual zoom during video, not too much low-light noise (squigglies), sensor colors fit with other Panasonics on shoots, adjustable color balance for mixed lighting situations, high capacity SD cards 2Gig, unlike FZ30!!, doesn't get hot like DSLRs, can change cards while on tripod,
No like: must restart video every 24minutes due FAT32 limitation, no external mic mono input, cannot zoom playback stills to check focus, limited remote abilty.

Straight-forward external drive for editing music/video
First generation, non-SCSI, external hard drive cases; has the Oxford chipset which causes least incompatibilities and two firewire 400 connections. No USB as this was issued in 2004 when USB v1.0 was the norm and quite slow. Fan is almost noiseless and power supply is inside case, no line lump/wall wart. This drive is used for laptop editing video, as the second drive, so no stuttering on playback. Rugged but heavy.

Versapack battery replacements
These are 3rd party replacements for Black & Decker tools still using the Versapack battery design. Formerly I only bought OEM gold-pack batteries and they lasted about 3 years continuous use. We'll see about these, but so far so good after a couple months use in a shop vac and a screwdriver. Fit and finish seem usual quality and they arrived with a full charge and a cap. Sure beat throwing away a perfectly useful tool.
