Great Value!
This low priced set has many popular songs and is filled with many alternate selections from the albums with the hits. It will fill a five-disc player and give you hours of vintage 80's music. Sound quality is exceptional. Perfect for background music at your next 80's themed party!

100 Hits of the 60's
4 of 4 found this helpful I bought a small group of these "100 Hits" discs based in the great titles and sheer amount of good music. I'm not sure about the others yet, but this set, while full of great songs, disappointed in sound quality. I base this on the fact I either own cds with some of these songs on them that sound a lot better than these, or have heard other digital versions that are more impressive. My conclusion, at least in this set, is that cheap second generation masters were probably used to save cost. But the tunes and cost per set made me give them three stars.

Breezin' by George Benson Hybrid Multichannel 5.1 SACD
Listening to this new Hybrid Multichannel 5.1 SACD of the classic George Benson album "Breezin'" reminds me of why I still enjoy the SACD multichannel format so much. It was like hearing these classic tunes for the first time. The distinct placement of each instrument blended across five channels was incredible, and being surrounded by the lush jazzy arrangement of this well recorded album was magic. Even my wife exclaimed, "Oh wow! This sounds so good! I don't remember them sounding like this!" I guess she forgot the sound of my Half-Speed Mastered vinyl version of this same album, which is also pretty good, but that's ok. We'll enjoy this one even more. If I could share a very small complaint, I had to turn up the bass a bit to get all the music sounding as good as it should, which I never had to do with any other SACD. That tells me that maybe the bass track was just not given enough energy for the sub.. Or maybe it's just a 5.0 mix? But that could also be my personal preference, and like many of us older enthusiasts I grew up twisting bass and treble controls on all my systems anyway. But that tiny complaint shouldn't stop anyone from trying this out. The songs are classic, Benson's performance was, as always, masterful and incredibly soulful.
