These DO NOT WORK
1 of 2 found this helpful I have been a machinist for 30 years. These dead blows do not work good for smacking a piece of steel down in a vise. I have been using them for a month and they just do not work like a good higher quality dead blow. They have a REAL hard face and tend to bounce. I found that if I hit the face on an angle they worked better but that will significantly decrease the life of the hammer. I rate them a ZERO for a machinist.
