great gas lift replacement
Item was exactly as described and very reasonably priced. Seems to be of good quality. Will have to see about long-term reliability. Removal of old gas lift was quite difficult. A suggestion for other users: remove the plate under the chair seat to get access to the old gas lift from the top and then hammer it out. Also I was able to reuse my old outer black base and just inserted the new silver gas lift part into it.

Does what it is supposed to
This adapter was tested on iPhone7 and iPad6 with iOS 12.2. Contrary to some other reviews it works just fine, recognizes SD cards of various sizes (tested up to 64GB) and transfers pictures fast. The iOS device remembers which photos have been transferred, so next time you connect the card it is easy to just transfer new photos. Photos after transfer keep their original filename and are stored in the Camera Roll. All EXIF info transfers fine. It would have been nice to be able to also transfer pictures from iOS device to SD card, but this is not possible.

Item as advertised. Seems to be brand new although it was manufactured in 2007. After a quick firmware update it is working fine.
