    My First GPS Navigator
I recently took a job that involved extensive travel, so I decided to invest in a GPS navigation system. The Navigon 2100 seemed to have the best features for the price so I bought a used one on eBay. This is my first auto navigation system. I've had it for two months now. I have to say, I won't go without one ever again. It's not perfect, but it sure beats squinting at paper maps, stopping to ask directions and navigating confusing interchanges. I can enter my next day's appointments into the unit while at home and regardless of which stop I go to first, I can get instant directions to the next stop I choose. That's way cool. I don't always agree with the route the Navigon plots, but it's no big deal. I just go the way I want and it re-routes to accommodate me. Sometimes it gets annoying when I change a route. It tells me to turn around at every cross street I approach. When that happens I just turn it off for a while. Try that with your wife! Ha! The 3D views of interchanges really help me on busy interstates and driving downtown. It gives me plenty of time to get into the proper lane to exit. The speaker on this model is very effective, but so far I haven't found a quick way to mute the thing. The touch screen is easy to use, but it still takes about six taps on the screen to turn the volume all the way down. My only criticisms are that the auto fill in feature takes too long to process every letter you type in for street names, cities, etc. or to scroll down the list of suggested locations. I guess that's because it's searching the entire national directory of addresses. I'd like it to limit my searches to just the state I'm in. That would speed things up. And if an address is not in the database, sometimes it's difficult to program it to get me into the general area. The screen is very easy to see in bright daylight, nothing like my cell phone display. When I first turn it on, it acquires the satellite links in just a minute or two. But it can't find them when I'm inside a home or office. I guess they're all like that. The built in battery is a great feature. It lets me program with my destinations into it while sitting in my office without having to plug it in. And I can carry the GPS with me after I park in a large complex and it will guide me to the specific building I'm looking for! The Navigon is so helpful, I've decided to save up for a more advanced model that lets me take cell calls through the unit and even broadcasts turn by turn directions through my car's stereo!

    Plantronics SHR2083-01 Ruggedized Circumaural Headset

    Awesome Noise Cancelling Headset
I work in a noisy call center. A standard Plantronics headset hindered my ability to do my job. Clients could hear other conversations and would ask me "do you work in one of those sweat shop?". I decided on the SHR-2083 after reading that the military selected this headset for use in the high noise environments of their aircraft carriers. Since switching to Plantronics best wired headset, I chat with my clients in a blissfully quiet environment. No more background noise. Loud talk, laughing, clapping or other distractions are a thing of the past. It's like talking in a quiet room. My clients have stopped telling me they can't hear me over the noise, and I can hear them clear as a bell. An added bonus of the 12DB noise attenuation and superior speakers is that I can turn my phone's speaker volume down from maximum to midway, further improving the audio quality of our conversation. In those environments where the customer side of the call weak, I just bump the call volume up to 10 and I can hear them whisper. The ruggedized design means I don't have to baby this headset. Every night I unplug it and throw it in my desk drawer. The heavy duty cord seems to be idiot proof. Yesterday I tried to walk away with my headset on. It stretched the cord so hard it ripped the headset off my head without damage. I highly recommend the Plantronics Ruggedized Circumaural Headset to anyone in a noisy or abusive environment.
LeCrozz L-Shaped Home Office Corner Desk
    Jan 09, 2018
A delightful design. Unique exoskeliten frame frees up leg space. Simple assembly using included tools.
This is a well thought out well designed desk kit. It is comprised of a light but sturdy steel frame connected at the corners with plastic and brass elbow connectors and topped with glass panels. Be aware the dimensions are smaller than a full size desk (panels are 19.5" deep), but it is ideal for applications with limited space. For the awesome price of under $100 each, I purchased two kits to create a large U shaped desk. Each desk is limited to 50 lbs. maximum weight, so be mindful not to overload it with things like electric typewriters or desktop computers. I have mine loaded with a laptop with second monitor screen, keyboard, trackball, several heavy binders and a stack of books without a problem. The clever design eliminates desk legs on the inside of the L allowing you to stretch your legs out unencumbered. All parts were carefully padded and packed. Assembly hardware comes sealed under clear plastic on a cardboard backing and clearly identified (spare bolts are included), even the allan wrench necessary for assembly was included. Assembly went quickly and easily following simple instructions. The allan wrench will slip if you try to over torque the bolts, which is a good thing. This desk is very light and sturdy, but if you over tighten the assembly bolts it can deform the thin wall steel frame members. The desk top is comprised of 3 panels of black opaque tempered glass and look great. The two large panels actually bolt to the steel frame to make the desk very rigid. The glossy top surface is easy to clean and is nearly impossible to scratch. Overall, I am very pleased with the design, affordability and ease of assembly of the LeCrozz L-Shaped Home Office Corner Desk.
