PC Power in lightweight package
I'd go for this second generation of the Vaio VPC line if you can find one in good shape at a good price. The first versions seem more plentiful but have an awkward keyboard layout especially the right shift key. Sony corrected that in this model. Also this model has an adaptive screen which can tell when you've turned the computer length ways (for example to read a PDF doc). It's not a desktop replacement or even a notebook/laptop replacement ~ but for quick on the fly work or quick e-mail check or internet browsing it's great. Its perfect when you are working in tight quarters or when you don't want to carry a large computer. It's easy to use in a meeting simply propped up on a crossed leg (I am a guy so don't know about that for the ladies) I find I can type quick notes or review docs, spreadsheets etc. I find it as useful as a tablet computer and it has a decent battery life. It can probably be upgraded to Windows 10 (icon is at bottom of mine) but I am happy staying with Win 7 especially since I am not sure the Sony Vaio drivers are out for it and I am not sure what functions I might lose by upgrading to Win 10 like the auto screen rotation. BOTTOMLINE: If you want a small travel companion that fits somewhere between a tablet computer and a notebook computer this is a good choice.

The best Sherlock Holmes adaptation for this generation
Back in the 1980's I waited with anticipation for PBS "Mystery" series to roll out the next installment of "The Sherlock Holmes Mysteries". I'd read the stories in my teens - what the crew from Granada television production, Mr Brett as Holmes and David Burke & Edward Hardwicke both taking opportunity to play Watson, were able to do was bring the pictures I had painted in my imagination years prior exactly to life! Mr Brett turned the phrases of dialogue exactly as I imagined Holmes to have delivered them. For me Jeremy Brett & Edward Hardwicke in "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is the definitive Mr. Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson! They say each generation has it's actor who "is" their Holmes - For me Jeremy Brett is the one for my generation. His will always be the face I see and the voice I hear when reading the printed work of Sir Conan Doyle and this will be the series put in the DVD player when I want to see one of these beloved stories on screen. If you haven't watched before - be warned IT IS ADDICTIVE and this production will be the ONE that will be Holmes and Watson for you. The quality of the other supporting actors/actress in each episode is well cast and well acted - music and direction is superb - BUY THIS SERIES NOW !!!!

My Favorite translation of the Imitation of Christ
The Joseph Tylenda translation of the classic "Imitation of Christ" is my favorite versions. It is very accessible compared to some of the other English translations - especially those in public domain. The page layout is also very appealing broken into easy to read sections and has ample footnotes and reference material. Unfortunately this one has never been released in a eBook format so your only option is to purchase the 1984 paperback copy.
