BETTER THAN THE RF VERSION
I didn't have to think long in deciding to purchase this lens. The condition of the lens at this price point was simply irresistible. Simply put, the combination of solid build, internal zoom movement, crisp autofocus, and extremely fine glass made this purchase a no-brainer. But to top all this, the performance of this generation lens on my EOS R5 via Canon adapter is to die for. Sure, it's heavy, but do a comparison shoot with it and the RF version on the same camera and you'll laugh at the thought of dismissing this lens because your arm may possibly get a little tired. The images I've gotten so far from this lens are not only comparable to those from the RF version but, at times, even superior in their rendering. This lens arrived in virtually perfect condition with no internal dust or any other foreign material that I could detect. That fact alone explains why I would avoid using the RF version with its telescoping zoom body in the more demanding environments. Successfully keeping contamination out of a lens with a telescoping zoom body over the long haul is surely a lofty dream. A little extra weight is a small price to pay for this level of insurance and long term quality maintenance.

Afrocentrism at it worst!
0 of 8 found this helpful This collection of second rate "experts" in African and African American history is a sad example of just how far one can go with the Black Nationalist mindset. Please! I'm African American, a child of the 60's and the Civil Rights Movement, and a participator in the sit-ins and civil disobedience that defined the era. I've witnessed and experience the many permutations of the Black Nationalist Movement throughout the period and I must say that none of them made as much sense, or accomplished as much improvement for the diaspora, as the actual realization of the past two administrations of the first (and possibly only) African American president of these United States. Now the entire world has a real and lasting appreciation of what we as a people can achieve and how we can influence the moral character of the globe. The African Diaspora hardly needs such gratuitous embellishments of our history....at least, not any more!
