These Blackhawk SERPA holsters are the best!
These holsters have a number of characteristics that provide safety I have never found in any other holster, plus the versatility of providing several carry positions. I like to carry with the pistol rolled forward. Most holsters don't allow that. The best features, though, are the safeties it provides.
The pistol is locked into the holster, with the trigger covered, and the release button position forces the user to place his index finger safely above the trigger, a great feature to prevent "Glock leg". Although I purchased this holster for a vintage S&W Model 59, which has a decocker that renders the pistol as inert as a brick, I also have one of these holsters for a modern S&W striker-fired pistol that, if anything pulls the trigger, it fires, so the covered trigger, and the lock that forces the trigger finger to be above the trigger on drawing is very important to protect the right leg I have come to love, over the years.
These holsters are the best!

Great for both safety and instant access...
I really like these holsters! I use them to carry a pistol in the field. I like them because the pistol is securely locked in the holster, so no matter what happens, the pistol will not fall out, yet it is instantly available if needed.
Blackhawk calls them concealment holsters but, for the life of me, I can't figure out why.
One thing I do know, though, is that if that FBI agent had done his drunken break-dancing back flip with his weapon holstered in one of these, it would not have fallen out of the holster and landed on the floor!

High Quality, Great Fit, Good Price
1 of 1 found this helpful I really like this holster. I like the quality. I like that it is lined and all the snaps are covered so as not to scratch the pistol. Be sure, this is not an all velcro'd up universal holster. This is a custom fit. While the snap on the thumb release keeps the retention strap securely fastened, a flip of the thumb releases it quickly and easily. That retention strap is very important to me because it is an important to safety because it insures that the pistol stays in the holster with the trigger safely covered to prevent accidental discharge. I always use mine outside the waistband on my belt, and it performs that type of duty just fine. Since I have never used it inside the waistband, I cannot comment upon using it that way.
I like this one so much, I intend to order a holster for another of my pistols from Outbags. They're fine folks!
