The Art of Happiness by Dalai Lama and Howard Cutler
2 of 2 found this helpful I liked this book very much. The Dalai Lama states it is the right of each of us to be happy. He and Dr. Cutler co-author a practical guide to help us toward that goal. Topics from building relationships to dealing with suffering and anxiety are discussed. It's interesting to view these subjects from both the Buddhist and Western angles.
The book left me feeling peaceful and thankful for the many blessings I have. It heightened my awareness of the importance of my relationships with others. I gained a new perspective on what is really important in my life. Truly an inspirational read I recommend to everyone.

This is a wonderful book, humorous but heartwrenching. I highly recommend it. Once you begin reading it will be hard to put down.

The Book Thief
This is a wonderful book. I'd give it 10 stars! This was a book club selection. I'm so happy we chose it. It moved me from laughter to tears. Death as the narrator is certainly unique and I loved the way he described the characters and situations. The story is set in Germany during WWII and portrays the main characters in their "normal" everyday life patterns, as well as the strange and unexpected events that unfold. As the story develops you grow to know and love each character as a special human being, coping each in his/her own way with the tragedy of war. I was so sorry to have this awesome book end. It's a keeper and I intend to read it again. Highly recommended!
