Hi, I have had several of the Smart pool models over the past 6+ years. Originally, I had a booster pump for Polaris, but it ran a large 220vt motor. If it went dry, would burn up the motor. After two burns due to me setting valves wrong/etc. Replacement parts $200 per year for Polaris. The inground pool is about 25ys old now. Went to a $1800 Aquabot but again annual repair parts $200+. Good concept of low voltage. Now comes SmartPool. Reliable as the AquaBot, purchase prices from $200-400 is my range. I make it thru two seasons of 9 months running the time every day every other hour. The cleaner probably times out off after 30 mins anyway. Pool clean, gets similar to Aquabot. Aquabot would sometime over scrub and wear my vinyl liner. My thinking is Aquabot repair belts/parts costs the same as a rebuilt or new SmartPool NC22, is the current model being used. I keep one on hand, one running. Good company to work with on repair replacements. Internally, the cleaner is sealed more than I prefer to do repair. I wish more parts were accessible, but easier to have Smartpool do the fixing. For me bugs, sand, excessive leaf weight (due to my neglect) dooms the cleaner. I do wish it had a swishing tail like the Polaris. That would be a nice feature. Maybe I can use some duct tape and a short hose off the exhaust fan to do the same process. Nice product. Good concept. My pool is 20x40 inground with step it can't reach anyway. You need to check on it once a day to unwind the cord and remove leaves. Regards John
