Title is a bit misleading.
Good animation and engaging story. Dealt with a tragic moment in history, but handled very well and suspect it portrayed that time period very realistically. One of those "sleeper" animes that won a few awards and may yet garner some additional positive attention. Comparable to another popular award-winning anime "The Wind Rises!"
Well worth the purchase and viewing. Consider it a keeper in my collection.

Sleeper Anime
This is one of those Anime DVD's that was difficult to find until just recently. I call it a "sleeper" because it turned out to be a great little story that just got better with each episode. Reminded me of the serial features that were popular in the 1930's & 40's. (and the story setting appears to be in that era). Terrific adventure feature with lots of action sequences. Probably best rated as a PG-13 (due to some violence and minor profanity). The Daughter of Twenty Faces is 22-episodes long and is well worth your time. The animation is very good and the character development is excellent.

Title is basic and self explanatory.
An anime that may not appeal to everyone, but it's a quietly entertaining story with engaging characters.
