DeWalt quality - Dewalt Price - 20 volt mistake
1 of 7 found this helpful this is a good quality string trimmer - much better than the $75 to $100 rechargeables out there. Two downsides are 1) it appears you have to wind your own replacement string - we will see if this is difficult or not, but probably saves money in the long run, and 2) It is NOT an 18 volt string trimmer. This is a huge downside to all of us with massive investments in the 18v line of DeWalt tools, batteries and chargers. As a Handyman I own and use many 18v tools every day - and although the 20v line is nice - and even superior in a few ways - it's introduction and incompatibility with existing tools is a betrayal to all the long time loyal professionals. I know several fellow contractors who took this opportunity to change brand loyalties.
