Definitely worth the extra money!
8 of 9 found this helpful Being a very artistic person, I was tempted by the Pro to sell my Air 2 (my very first iPad) to save for this device. I am so glad that I did! For all you major art buffs out there, this is the ideal substitute for the Wacom Cintiq--and you don't even need to have a MacBook to take advantage of the AirPlay feature (I myself use Lonely Screen, a free AirPlay programme that allows you to share desktop with your monitor/laptop/Apple TV).
The difference between it and the Air 2 (my wife bought the Air 2 from me) is very much noticeable, from the sleek design to the guts itself. Others might say "it's just a bigger iPad," but I view it more like a workstation, and nearly the perfect replacement for a laptop, if you're looking into artwork and design ;) Having given it a lot of thought and time to make my purchase (and tax returns), I am very glad to have bought the Pro, and can only say that I am yet to find any disappointments with it. My only suggestion is, DO yourself a favour and get a matte finish screen protector if you're planning on drawing on the go. The matte finish restricts the sun's reflection and gives the Pro a more robust surface to draw on (and no worries--even when coupled with the Apple Pencil, I've found no issues with screen sensitivity while drawing).
With that being said, my only teensie tiny caveat to you is that charging this device takes a CONSIDERABLE AMOUNT OF TIME. iPhone and previous iPad users will note the difference in longer charge times before the unit reaches full charge. There also isn't a Low Power Mode option, although the battery inside definitely lasts long, just like the Air 2's did.
Give the Pro a chance, and you'll see the difference a few extra inches can do =) It's not just Apple wanting more money ;)
